I work closely with teachers to ensure the session supports learning goals while providing a fun and enriching experience for students.
I bring all materials to your school and guide students through creative projects that build confidence, artistic skills, and self-expression.
Meet Helen — Art Teacher and Founder of Arty Kids (Registered SA teacher, Fine Art Degree, Diploma of Education, Working with Children Clearance, First Aid trained)
Hi, I’m Helen, a highly skilled Art teacher with over 20 years experience. I run after school Art classes at several Eastern suberb schools during the week and at Studios on Saturday's. I also specialise in delivering engaging, hands-on Art incursions for primary students. I have delivered school incursions to many schools across Adelaide including Rose Park PS, Burnside PS and Linden Park PS.
How School Art Incursions Work
Step 1: Choose your focus
I work with you to design a session based on:
• Year level
• Curriculum goals
• Specific artist, technique, or theme
• Book Week or special events
Step 2: I come to your school together with one of my Art Assistants or Art teachers
I arrive at your school with all materials ready.
Sessions are typically scheduled across the day, depending on the number of classes
for example:
• Session 1: Before recess
• Session 2: After recess
• Session 3: After lunch
Each session is designed for one class
Step 3: Students learn and create
Each session includes:
• Introduction to the topic or artist
• Discussion and examples
• Guided hands-on art activity
• Students complete their own artwork
All materials are provided.
Step 4: Easy setup for teachers
Teachers only need to provide:
• A classroom or art room
• Access to a sink (preferred)
• Standard classroom supervision
I handle everything else.
